The Old Woman with the Knife Trailer

“It may look dull… but it still does the job.” Well Go USA has debuted another new trailer for the film The Old Woman with the Knife, a Korean assassin dark thriller from filmmaker Min Kyu-dong. We already posted the first trailer months ago and it opened in select US theaters back in May – this new trailer is for the VOD release (on November 25th). An aging female assassin with a knack for taking out society’s worst encounters a young protégé eager to learn the trade – who has his own secrets. As they form a surprising & unexpected bond, the veteran killer discovers fresh purpose in her twilight years of violence and routine. Actress Lee Hye-yeong plays Hornclaw – a legendary assassin now in her 60s who specializes in “disease control,” or getting rid of “human vermin,” for over 40 years. Perhaps because she is getting older, she feels a strange compassion for the doctor who treated her. Also starring Kim Sung-cheol and Kim Mu-yeol. Another underrated, underseen action thriller that I recommend watching – it’s slick, stylish & entertaining. Most of all, Hornclaw is such a badass. Watch it just for her! Catch this film at home starting in November.

Here’s the second US trailer for Min Kyu-dong’s film The Old Woman with the Knife, from YouTube:

Aging assassin “Hornclaw” (starring Lee Hye-yeong) has seen it all, but she never expected to mentor a reckless rookie like Bullfight. As their unlikely bond deepens, cracks form in the underworld they navigate together. When Hornclaw discovers someone wants her dead, she’s thrust into a deadly game of deception. With enemies closing in and trust in short supply, survival means staying sharp—both blade and mind. The Old Woman with the Knife, also known as 파과 or Pagwa in Korean, is directed by acclaimed Korean filmmaker Min Kyu-dong, director of the movies All for Love, Antique, The Chase, The Last Blossom, All About My Wife, The Treacherous, Herstory, and The Prayer previously. The screenplay is written by Kim Dong-wan-II and Min Kyu-dong. Produced by Min Jin-soo. This initially premiered at the 2025 Berlin Film Festival earlier this year, and it also opens in Korea this week. Well Go USA will debut The Old Woman with the Knife in select US theaters starting May 16th, 2025 coming soon. For more info, visit their official site.
