Luv Ya Bum! Sports Doc Trailer

“He believed it was okay for a coach to love his players.” In doing so, he changed leadership in professional sports and left a legacy that continues to resonate with NFL generations even today. Blue Harbor Ent. has revealed an official trailer for the documentary film titled Luv Ya Bum!, which is actually a sports history film about Texas football in the 1970s. With narration from actor Dennis Quaid. In the ’70s, the struggling Houston Oilers turned to Bum Phillips, an unconventional cowboy-hat-wearing coach who built a family-first team of misfits and stars such as Earl Campbell. Together they ignited the “Luv Ya Blue!” phenomenon, challenged the Steelers dynasty, and captured a city’s heart. Featuring rare, archival footage and impactful interviews with football legends, including Earl Campbell, Dan Pastorini, Peyton Manning, Sean McVay, Terry Bradshaw, Jerry Jones, J.J. Watt, Von Miller, DeMarcus Ware, and Bum’s own son & grandson, NFL coaches Wade and Wes Phillips. This premiered at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival and won the Documentary Spotlight Audience Award. Looks like a fun one to watch even if you aren’t familiar with Coach Bum already.
